- The burnt town is still there! Congratulations on your first map upgrade. The sinkholes and black thorny vines are also there. Alas, Mr. Bone-Jangles has taken his maskerade elsewhere though. Maybe he’ll return again someday.
- BB has built us a school... way at the beginning of October. Wolfie failed to make the map update in time but it is there, trust her.
- Gnosis has also built a lab, but at the end of the month. Two new buildings for people to play in. Except it’s Gnosis so probably don’t play in there, play in BB’s school instead, it’s friendlier to that.
- Moder has been reborn, and in turn purified of the corruption. She’s hanging around, usually wandering the Grove and saying hello and minding her own business unless approached. It’s fine probably. She will be contactable on the NPC contact page, which has not been updated yet, but she’s contactable just trust us bro.
- Nene is also back! She is in Add's custody, so she mostly stays at Elsword's house.
- As the seasons start to shift, it’s beginning to snow more often. At first the ground simply remains frosted in the mornings before melting into the chilly afternoon, but by the end of the month there’s going to be some decent amount of snow on the ground. Sometimes the snow tastes and smells like ash.
PLOT UPDATES
- At the start of the month, Ydalir will hand out enchanted notebooks. These notebooks will function as our network officially, with more information below. She and Heimr will also be making hot chocolate for people who stop by.
- Well, you guys pissed off the Forest irrevocably, not even Caoimhe’s misplaced worship will appease it. Aside from the areas cleared of the fog- so, the main Grove, the burnt neighborhood and the river- if the barrier drops enough that you can enter the black fog, you will be attacked with the intent to maim and kill. That said, the barrier is still mostly in place, and the Golden Glasses from the Bonus AC shop are required to find the gaps where it isn't.
- Meanwhile, invisible pranksters have infested the grove! No matter how careful you are, characters will be targeted, be it having something stolen from your room and placed in another, to pulling your hair while someone else is close enough by to frame them. They’ll also go out of their way to interrupt sleep as much as possible, and will do anything to raise tensions. It’s probably fine.
- … Or at least, it is compared to what else is happening. Throughout the month, you may find yourself being watched. Followed. And eventually, you’ll see why: characters this month are being stalked by monsters that are a representation of their greatest fears combined. The only requirement is that it cannot be a person. For example, Felicity’s fear cannot take form of her “Grandfather” and the witch who tried to cannibalize her, but it can represent dogs, food scarcity, hospitals and electrical torture. Throughout the month these Fears will stalk their designated person with the intent of psychological torture and, should opportunity arise, to attack. These things will be clever, however, and won’t rise to the bait if you try to attack them first. As the month progresses, they will grow more bold with the intent to kill and devour their target. Among other things, these guys are not nice and want you to suffer.
- More precise examples of the Fears: Felicity's would be a gnarled, very feral lighting dog covered in chains meant to restrain it's target, while for Elsword it could be a henir-corrupted, multifaced grim-reaper like figure with a sword coated in blood, with the names of the ones he's personally failed engraved on the blade. Fears are meant to be an amalgamation of different things, both conceptual and literal, so you can definitely have fun with it.
- Also the pranksters are not fine actually, because the more aggressive the Fears get, the more aggressive they get as well: eventually they’ll manifest as their true form, tiny shadows who will gleefully make their pranks more and more extreme. Fatally so. Like a tumble down the stairs, or knives going flying. Good luck!
- In short: Everything wants to kill you and they’re being slow about it to fuck with you.
THE NETBOOKS
- “Usernames” will just be the character’s name (as chosen — so Add and Brook, for example, can still be Add and Brook), and the writing will display as their own handwriting across every book. If purposely written in another language, the writing will auto-translate to something every character can understand, meaning there will be no secret otherworldly language conversations between any characters.
- You can consider it to be like a mass forum, with individual comm posts being new posts on the forum!
- Considering that mechanic, that means there are no private messages. There will never be private messages. If you want private messages send a letter like ye olden days, or just talk like a person, we’re not your parents.
- “Network” posts will simply be made on the main IC comm and should be labelled & formatted appropriately as such.
- New characters who app in after this point will automatically receive a netbook.
OOC UPDATES
- The FAQ & Locations pages will be updated to reflect a few things: the netbooks, the river’s width and overall depth, Moder’s… erm… presence here, the school (please yell at Wolfie), & maximum vertical travel/flight height (we originally wrote 20ft… and then we started parking Zahliya on top of the inn past the max height, so it will now be 30ft, oops) (your mods are very good at math).
- We will additionally have a large “overall” map sketched out in the coming weeks since players have been asking for it. We have not forgotten, we are just busy little guys.
- Please thank Rubie for her second wonderful contribution of a player plot, the mischievous shadows!
- The bonus AC page will be updated with some additional goodies. We are very aware that you guys are running out of stuff to buy. We will still take suggestions if anyone has anything, so please feel free to drop those in the mod inbox and/or the game discord (just ping the mod role!)
- Thank you guys for your patience with us recently. We’re eternally grateful to you as players for this, especially as real life tries to take us all out simultaneously. We will squeeze lemons into life’s eyes.

Status: Add just went through a whole character arc, got a boyfriend, rescued his sister and contributed to a possible cure for Forest corruption, so he is feeling Fantastic right now.
I'm putting Add on the backburner this month to focus more on building up Haru's CR, but he's got a couple projects he's working on now:
- Building Nene new legs, which is the easy part, actually. The hard part is getting the materials from Ydalir, which is gonna require helping two people with a non-medical task. Is he still going to try and cheat somehow? Can he help with science things?? looks at Gnosis tbh but yeah if anyone wants an excuse to do a Thing with Add this is a free opportunity just ask him for a dumb favour that doesn't involve a medical problem.
- Putting an "experimental implant" in Mizuki's brain, and also Elsword's brain, which totally isn't a secret mind control chip. He's not telling anyone about this one. It's a secret. Don't worry about it.
- Setting himself up in the new clinic I got approved right after this post went up so this is the EXCLUSIVE reveal wowow!! the nerds are winning this month.
Seeking: W/E W/E he is always happy to have more nerd friends/robot friends/interesting biology friends...? people to poke and prod and examine, yknow, friendship.
Not Seeking: Romantic CR :) he is taken, you don't want him anyway
Anything Else: His fear demon is basically gonna be a giant mass of thorny vines with no discernible body or vitals, toss some ghost hands w\ chains in there and give it the power to scream in the voices of his friends/family just to fuck with him. He will not be happy about this.

anyway add can help gnosis with A Task they have a lab now, i can think of something bafflingly unhinged for gnosis to research. hope add walks in and is like "hey do you need help" and gnosis is like "i have this sample of a corrupted plant i need help analyzing if you have the time, as well as these things from the burned village and the fog wall" like pick your poison. why do you think he got that cloak in the first place it was for crime.

Haru | Digimon Survive
Status: i apped Haru in the middle of forestquest so unsurprisingly he has been neglected last month oop!!! SO I am gonna work on this for November, please look at my weird child

yeah so Haru is actually not a normal human child shocking i know, he is so good at this!!! anyway this is not actually that big of a secret to him, it's just more convenient/simple to make people think he's a human... but it's no fun if he keeps it hidden forever! So I'm gonna start that slow process of making him trust people and/or have him act feral enough for people to connect the two dots.NOTABLY, his illusion isn't impossible to detect, so please let me know if your character has any illusion-breaking abilities/the Golden Glasses and they will probably just see him for what he really is, a 5'8" tall genderfluid furry impersonating a child.
Seeking: anyone willing to tolerate/talk to him... Haru is extremely antisocial and a terrible conversationalist, but he's not an asshole. He'll be helpful when it feels appropriate and speaks when spoken to, he's just very curt in his responses and prone to staring blankly in awkward silence with 0 self awareness. Be patient w\ him and he'll open up with time.
if you want CR easy mode tho... either ask about his sister or be an obvious nonhuman. The weirder you look the more he'll think you're normal, actually.

Anything Else: Not totally sure on Haru's monster yet but something something afraid of bad stuff happening to Miyuki, enemies that are too strong to defeat, maybe some existential dread in there somehow... this is a spoiler but might resemble this boss idk im workshopping it still

i dont have a meme handy BUT the mods said that since 1) plants from characters' homeworlds can spawn in the Grove and 2) in Digimon canon, meat grows out of the ground in farms and this is somehow normal then 3) while foraging you MAY randomly find meat in the ground. it is definitely not safe for human consumption. enjoy.
