OOC PLOTTING: WOLFIE CAME UP WITH TOO MANY EVENTS THIS MONTH AND IS SORRY

So last night I (wolfie, this is wolfie) realised that maybe throwing

a volcano
a cryptic-ass NPC
a happy sub-event after the volcano
and a smaller plot-relevant mission

at people might've been too fucking much for one month. Good news: Two of these things are now being combined into one! I am so fucking sorry. I am very glad y'all are so invested in the game that I had to take a step back and go "oh there is not enough Month in this month for this", thank you for playing stickbones. I will calm down.

That said, this OOC plotting post exists for the latter 3 events. I will try to make this make sense.

HAPPY SUB-EVENT:

An in-game week after the volcano event (so, technically, legally, the 8th if I had to put a date on it), a comfortable feeling of warmth and love will settle over the Grove. No longer will it feel like total despair, at least for that night and into the following morning. Characters will feel happier and lighter overall, even if they burned alive/had their friends die/lost an eye/scared Nene off into the woods/etc etc.
Lanterns will be released into the night sky from all around, including from inaccessible areas outside the immediate Grove. The Shopkeeper and Trader will have additional lanterns that characters can write wishes on and send them into the sky. :) Please tell me what ur wishes are :)
Small animals will begin to appear. These will remain for the duration of the event and will leave once daylight hits, running off into the fog. They are friendly, and will bring each player character one small (no larger than your hand), non-magical, sentimental object from home. This is left up to player choice. They will also stick around to play with everyone, and can be spotted doing basic "chores" around the Grove such as cleaning up some debris, bringing people forage-able mushrooms and fish from the river, and attempting to, erm, run the Shopkeeper and Trader's businesses while they're busy with the lanterns. They accept tips in headpats, thank you.
Negative effects from player characters will not work during the night this event runs. That means Toge's cursed speech, Felicity's bad luck aura, Mizuki's hallucinations... I forget if there are others apologies, anyway those will be suppressed. Feel free to just Exist.
Also there will be food. It ain't a party without a feast.

TWILIGHT: NEW MOON, & ALSO FORESTQUEST:

Some of you are aware of this, but players who responded to my unhinged request in August to "fuck with you guys in your IC inboxes" received some cryptic plot shit. For people who want to be in the know, here are the (completed) threads in order:

This was originally going to be a player-led event, i.e. the mod team would not be doing SHIT and if y'all didn't want to do the Summoning The NPC On The New Moon thing on your own time then idk they'd just die in the woods or smth and the game would move on. And then Add scared Nene, a major NPC, ~~off into the woods, and I quietly realised that September was going to kill us all if these things weren't combined. So!~~

I am no longer murdering my players and we are going to shove off Forestquest until October. Ok thank you for coming to my ted talk.

THE RITUAL/NEW MOON SECTION OF THIS EVENT (edit: running in September):

Zahliya specifically told four of you to "summon me on the new moon" and then fucked off. This was then spread around during the fammeet. Mizuki has the deep lore on how the summoning would work, please bother Mizuki for it. It's easy I promise.
Player characters NOT involved in Forestquest will be involved in Newmoonquest unless they simply choose not to do it, which is a fair decision. The initial summoning will be fast-and-loose...
...the plot that follows after it will not be but that's okay. :) I don't want to spoil too much about it, but hopefully some of you know how to fight and some of you also know medical things.
This one is meant to be player-led, unlike Forestquest which is mod-guided. I will simply sit back with my hands in my lap and let chaos unfold.

FORESTQUEST (edit: Now happening in October but this all still applies!):

Congratulations, plot things are happening!
There will be limited sign-ups for this event for 1-2 player characters. This is our first attempt at a mission-styled event, which will be mod-guided, on an expedition through the fog into the greater parts of the forest. You can think of it running like a TTRPG.
This is something that is mostly spearheaded ICly by Add. Add's castmates are banned from doing this please someone else have the lore.
Signups are below and on a first-come-first-served basis.
Because of how this event works, the next time there is a mission-styled event, players who signed up for this event will be de-prioritized for signups for other limited sign-up events that may run in the future, so that it's fair and other people can have a chance at cool lore-related missions.
Lavvy has all the info in a comment below, please bug her with your questions/concerns/signups/shrieking thank u for participating!

As always if you have feedback on anything in the game/how events are running, please feel free to throw them into our mod contact post! We are trying to include everyone in the plot as much as we can/as much as interest is there. Wolfie is sorry for being unhinged this month. She will calm down in the future (source needed).

Sometime between the volcano event and the 14th, Add will be calling everyone in for another meeting (we are handwaving this one dwbi). The purpose of this is twofold: give everyone an opportunity to discuss the plan for the ritual, and... a second thing!

The second thing is that he needs 1-2 people to come with him into the woods. He will explain that he has a pair of the golden glasses, and that they will show a safe route through the fog. He also has a copy of the map Elsword found. As for why he's going in there... the most he will say is that it involves Nene (hey where did she go huh), and that he absolutely has to be the one to make this trip. They're going to an abandoned church out there. Any further questions will be evaded or ignored.

This trip will happen on the same day as the ritual: on the new moon, when the fog is at its weakest. So, any characters that go on this trip will have to miss out on the ritual... it'll be fine, probably.

Volunteers are first come first serve but anyone is welcome to jump in (free cr free cr). I was gonna have a bit here about how ICly he'd be kinda picky but then i remembered our game is small and everyone is a DnD or anime character so like yeah it's fine he'll take any of you freaks

ALSO as a note for myself... he will be leaving one (1) dose of his Cure as well as a dose of Immunity with Elsword (just in case). He'll have one Cure left on hand for the forest trip, so if anyone feels like getting horribly injured it's fine you have a doctor with miracle drugs, Add will keep all of u alive somehow.

we are capped at two characters (Add doesn't count), i'm too lazy to make a form just put down anything your character would say about themselves and why they want to come i guess

I think with this Zahliya event going as it did - ending with Add being knocked the fuck out and Mizuki eating Moder raw - if Irene catches wind at all they're going out into the Forest, she's coming with them. Moooostly to keep an eye on Mizuki, but also to make sure Add doesn't, you know... die. She might think you're lame, buddy, but she wants people to be safe.

not volunteering but putting it on record: Gnosis is giving Add his Cloak of the Night so he can pass through the woods unseen and not die

fellie's on "just burnt to death slowly" bed rest but she'll make them good luck charms or just. try to absorb their bad luck for herself before they leave so she'll fuck up more but they'll be fine

i am also going to remind you that Game 1 players- so add!!!- has a charm that will reset One plot action per scenario!! it will break after use but still

His actual wish is that he wants to know if the Silverashes are doing alright sorry he's a little soft don't call him out—

Elsword has several wishes:

He wishes for Add to be happy

He hopes Chung can find his dad alive and well

He explicitly does Not want his other friends to come here, please keep them on Elrios ty

he wants his memories :( (he cant get them back till i say so tho)
otherwise... he would wish... for elsword and add's happiness and safety (And also god please get it together you two you are married)
for the forest's hold on his father to break
for those within the grove to make their way home safely

and for a nice cozy blanket like the one he has back in hamel, winter is coming-

Mizuki has a few wishes!
- Good health for the Trader & Shopkeeper
- For Add & Elsword to have a fulfilling relationship (sighs)
- Mizuki would like the ability to keep people safe & happy

- For Hakuno to be safe and if shes not she will kill everyone here and then herself.
- For Ritsuka to be safe and if shes not she will kill everyone here and then herself.
- For BB channel to come back
- To rule the world
- For a cute dress like Irene's
- Robin to turn up cause shes bored.
- All the technology from everyones world
- Her own dynamo
- For Add and Elsword to fuck get a room and fuck already
- Mizuki to get a new game, but a haunted one like the Haunted ‘Legend of Zelda’ Cartridge creepy pasta kind.

BB writes like a million misc things from like clothing to very descriptive complicated coding items for a computer system.

[ At first Caoimhe thought you could only write one wish so she simply writes: ]

- For everyone to stay safe, be happy, and have hope.

[ Then she notices everyone is writing a few so she kind of just finds ones everyone writes, and begins to braid some threads together. They kind of look like knots with a long braid attached to each wish, likethis. She creates many onto the ones she hopes can get granted.

She braids Fel's wish, Elsword's wishes, Mizuki's Wishes, Some of BB's, Gnosis, and Chungs. If anyone else makes wishes after this post, mainly genuine and innocent ones. She will probably make a braid to add to the wish. This signifies her desire for this wish as well - that she hopes and wishes for this wish to come true too.

The talisman she makes, is her hope that it can.

but if he DID participate (in theory) (for science)

he wants to be able to help Elsword and Nene, if you don't give him the cure to forestitis then that proves that wishes are fake and not real check MATE

Natsuno just got here and already wishes to leave (alive, to a normal reality, no tricks or fine print bullshit).

Luckily Natsuno's gift (reflected now on the mini-event) is completely normal to help him with that :O

Irene, who doesn't have time for this because she's busy, just writes "a secret" and that's it.

The Forest is constrained by general DWRP meta, but it thinks it has supplied a suitable secret (now reflected in the "gifts" dropdown on the event)

The forest loves simple wishes and hopes it understood the assignment correctly! (Event log updated!)

Happy event is happy event, Elsword will be writing down like 300 different wishes. You may read them if you want, he's not of the opinion that you have to keep them secret... he will probably go up to people and ask what they're wishing for like :D?

Also he'll be playing with the small animals. His lion will also be there... I think a lot of the newer players have yet to experience said lion. Do not worry, he is a friend.

Obviously Elsword is not involved in (banned from) Forestquest, Add gave him instructions to stay behind for the ritual, so he will be there. I will caveat that his role is simply to stand by in case anything bad happens and they get attacked, but since I am a mod, his involvement will be pretty minimal? But he's there. Just know that he's there. He will talk to you if prompted but Add said "guard this" and Elsword takes those sorts of orders very strongly so that is what he will be doing. He is literally operating on instinct.
