OOC PLOTTING: the suri games

SETTING & PLOT UPDATES:

• :) oh boy
• CWs for this post: it will have mentions of murder and suicide and other violence.
• Those of you were here in December may remember the ominous “Are you willing to die?” poll. Many of you voted yes. I’m pleased to announce that you will now die.
• With the Iris still at large, some may notice that the other moons no longer try to rotate night-by-night. Instead, multiple of them show up in the skies at once, and gradually they start to fuse together with sinew. You can thank the Iris for this one. The Woodcrawlers and other threats from last month remain at large, and magic is still suppressed, though many of you who are sensitive to it or previously had it will begin to sense it bubbling under the surface, like a volcano about to erupt. That’s surely not ominous for later!
• Around this time, Suri — or the Forest, or the Fallen God, or the Black Sun, or “that fucking guy” — starts to wake from slumber. His magic has also been suppressed for the most part by everything happening, and he is Not pleased about it. Like hey man, this is his circus and you guys are his monkeys! Stop killing his monkeys, only he can do that!
• This is the point where Suri, who cannot enter the Grove still despite everything, will strike a proposal: Kill each other a little bit so *he* can regain his strength and cast the Iris out of the skies for good.
• One of two marks, either a black sun in the shape of a crescent or a black sun in the shape of a gibbous, will appear on your characters’ inner wrist. Every character in the game will be marked with one of these (regardless of if you plan for them to die or not), and if covered by clothing, they will glow through it. No hiding! If your character lacks a usable or obvious wrist, it will instead show up somewhere else obvious. Maybe their forehead. I’ll let you pick.
• Suri says the goal is very simple: pick off someone with your opposite mark, or take your own life. He’d prefer you don’t pick off someone with your same mark because he set this up to entertain himself too, but like whatever dude, death feeds him. (The enemy of my enemy is my friend but god my friend sucks.)
• There will be incentives to death this time, though. Slightly, somewhat.
• Death will not yield a trip to the Garden (obviously). You will resurrect mark-free 24 hours later. This will also give you temporary immunity to death from the still-lingering horrors or your peers, up until the end of February. Then if you die it’s your fault.
• Have you died previously and gone to the Garden and lost something (a limb, an eye, a memory) that you want back? Should you choose to sacrifice yourself here or get killed by your peers, Zonari will undo one death consequence you suffered previously. This is the ONLY time we’ve offered something like this and likely will be for the foreseeable future.
• Below is a table that I hope works on mobile (sorry phone people) with your marks and assignments :) I tried to make these as evil as I possibly could.

• While the inn remains a bastion from the horrors outside, it is NOT an opt-out for your peers murdering each other. If you’re still marked, you can supremely be ganked in the hallway. Be careful!
• At the end of the event (provided enough of you die) (PLEASE don’t make me make the Woodcrawlers permanent) you can expect the setting to change in this way:
  • No more Iris, Woodcrawlers, DRD, or Fake People
  • Magic comes back to the Grove, but we’re asking you to hold off on forward-dating threads to March for now!
  • Beiwe & Ourania will be re-contactable
  • Suri and Zonari will slink back to their hovel, wherever it is, and leave you to patch up whatever emotional damage you did to your peers.
• Note that mod character deaths do not count toward my arbitrary “enough people have to die to un-GHE the setting” although they are allowed to participate/kill your characters if you want. The number is pretty low, in a small game like this I’d be happy if 3-5 of you chose to die. More is just a fun little bonus.

OOC UPDATES:

• There is a sign-up below for “willing to die”. This is more of a plotting device/mod checklist so we know how many Woodcrawlers to ctrl alt del from the setting. Feel free to volunteer to murder each other under your headers there if it makes your life easier. Note that signing up here GUARANTEES that your character will die. Even if you don’t write out the actual murder, you will have big death.
• March will be a calmer event to break up the horror a little and focus around the topic of regaining magic. We will also be introducing some… treats. :) Then in April we will have our usual April Fools’ funny nonsense. I think you guys will like this year’s April event, but I’ll also never top Neo Eden lmao.

CR: Normally magic cat, currently lacking most of her magic.
Plans: Cy is on Team Gibbous! She will actively be taking part, but is likely too small to successfully kill most. As her wrists (?) are not obvious the mark will be on her head instead. I am happy for her to die and she would not find this experience traumatic, but I feel like she's probably pretty low on most people's hit lists. Especially since we have plenty of characters dying already!

Canon: Epic Seven
CR: Vildred is "just a guy". He's not a creature (okay he has dragon blessings of tail/horns but like he's not a creature), he doesn't have magical powers*, he's literally just a fucking dude.

Okay he's a bit of a one-man army archetype but he is otherwise limited by being human. Also, when Rubie and I calculated his height he's standing at at least 6'5". So. Have fun with this beefcake.

Anyway, a short backstory is that he's a General in Ezera's order of knights, very cool and neat, and he's just a dork. This man is just a goofball who doesn't like when people are sad and he loves to tell jokes. He can be very serious oftentimes but also why be serious when can be joking?? Also highkey obsessed with Ras canonically, dwbi.

The bigger lore meat is that his homeworld Orbis is constantly under attack by the Archdemon, because worlds must always have an apocalypse you see. Every time the Archdemon wins, the world gets reset by the goddess Diche and starts anew... and Vildred only just learnt that he's lived six similar lives with different endings every time. He's usually telling Ras that he'll die for him and Ras is like "please stop doing this"... Ras seeks him out in every timeline. It's homoerotic. Anyway, Vildred specifically is taken from the end of the 6th timeline before he died there, the current game is on timeline 7. We will Talk about timeline 7 when I canon update in X months. :)

For Stix: He and Ras live in the dojo south of the river, across the way from the school/rec center. The boys are kissing now. Vildred is grappling with knowing that he's lived a bunch of other lifetimes, including the one from past lives here, and all of them included Ras. He's just kind of Gay right now and will continue to be so.

Plans: Last month Vildred broke his ribs + one of his ankles while escaping the Woodcrawlers. He will largely be inside at the inn with Ras, who is moderately comatose due to the magic being suppressed, protecting him because what fucking else does Vildred ever do. Yeah yeah I know guys I know, HOWEVER

I am volunteering him for murdering your guy! (he was assigned gibbous at suri)

He will be hesitant to do so unless someone wants to try to break into his room with Ras at the inn. Everyone likely knows he's somewhat down for the count due to his crunchy bones right now since he announced it on last month's TL, so he and Ras could be a potentially "easy" target In Theory. So if anyone craves a B&E and wants to get killed by a guy that is at a severe disadvantage hmu.

(i may also canon update him soon too. the resolution of murder might spurn this on quicker so i can beat his ass with the chair. i think he has enough cr at this point for people to clock his sudden personality shift if this happens...???)

CR: Joshua is a dethroned prince, a healer, and an overall canon-confirmed very pretty man. Normally he can use fire and healing magic! Right now he cannot. He also has dragon boons that give him wings and feathers and scales. A pretty bird. :) A very polite and self-sacrificing bird.

Plans: Joshua is marked with a Crescent Sun, and I have signed him up for death. He does not wish to kill if he doesn't have to, and is much more likely to offer himself up for the killing than kill another person, but we can make anything work. He will also be fiercely defending Luca so that Luca doesn't get yoinked.

CR: once the Faerie King of the Faerie Kingdom in Beast-Yeast, Elder Faerie was killed off in his canon by Shadow Milk. now that he is here, he's been trying to devote his life to mending his wrongs and living peacefully. well, as peacefully as he can in such an environment. he's fairly calm, and loves life, and is discovering that he's surrounded by very depressed Cookies that he doesn't quite know how to handle. don't let him cook. but he can do other things! like knit! and sing!
Plans: weeeeeell Elder Faerie may not have powers, but he does have a big sword. do you want him to kill you? convince him why he should, and he probably will. he won't like it, but the option is there. he is team Crescent Sun.

CR: So once upon a time, and the beginning of Cookie Creation, there existed five cookies gifted the power of five important concepts: Knowledge, Change, Volition, Happiness, and Solidarity. Bringing in an age of paradise, these Virtues used their Soul Jams to usher in peace and prosperity.

Until they slowly crumbled under the weight of their power and immortality, falling into madness and corruption, and became beasts of destruction and chaos. They were sealed away, having their jam's split in half, filtering away the pure aspects of each virtue and scattering them off to find new heirs capable of shouldering their burden.

All was well and good until the previous Virtue of Knowledge, now the Beast of Deceit, Shadow Milk, fucking broke out!! Haha!! And now he wants his Jam back, and he wants to raze the world to the ground for locking him in that tree for thousands of years! And maybe squish Pure Vanilla in his hands like a stressball! That's absolutely what he wants!!

His personal showdown with Pure Vanilla, the other half of his Jam, says otherwise, and now he's stuck here in the Grove going through a painful redemption arc, finally free of most of his corruption and insanity but instead slapped with mountains of grief after having his soul mate forcibly ripped away from him. His soul-mate is back, but with amnesia, and he feels normal about that.

Plans: Him and Salt are going to Get up to something, so he will be dying and getting his sight back. Will he kill more? He can! He does not have a lot of empathy!! So if you want someone to murder you, he'll probably do it!!

CR: Alright so Genya is just a guy. He doesn't know the same breathing techniques that his fellow slayers do, so he supplements it by eating things, using their powers, and shooting gun. If you want to opt into the eating thing (literally just hair or clothing, nothing cannibalism related because this is supposed to be funny not triggering) you can go here.

Genya is going stir crazy after being locked up for a month and he will start throwing punches. That being said he's "laid low" for the most part after opening the door and unleashing the dead. It worked out but he feels guilty!

Plans: Genya is gonna kill Akaza. It'll be funny at first, but then it'll actually happen and Genya gets to feel a little smug?

And then guilty.

Anyway that being said, I'm open to having Genya be killed as well, if anyone wants. He might even volunteer, considering the fact that he feels like he's caused a lot of problems. Or maybe it's the guilt!

(do not mistake this for being polite, so much as trying to avoid Literal Murder. he still has a mouth on him, it's just for barking instead of biting now.)

Plans: I have nothing, but if anyone needs someone to kill their characters somehow, Mephisto is your best bet. Bar Lily, Till and Faust, he would not bat an eye to killing anyone here. Obviously, he's just A Small, Frail, Crippled Child(tm), so any murder attempts would be likely trap-based. He's very likely put explosives around the Inn. Sorry!!!!

CR: Normal Canadian man who witnessed the unfathomable cosmic entity that mutates whatever it sees, so now he's half man half spider half camera all body horror all the time. Despite his fucked up monster body he is an anxious, spineless people pleaser (unless there are no witnesses)(this man is a stalker and also kills people and steals souls sometimes)(but he's nice!!!!! dwbi!!!!!). Really into tabletop, photography (duh), video games, long yt video essays, obsessing over an extremely average middle-aged man in his apartment complex, etc.

Plans: I TDMed him and then ?????? disappeared for my vacation lol so waves hands vaguely, he arrived late into January or something. He's still half-convinced this is his homeworld because honestly the fucked up moon and monsters that want to kill u and people saying insane shit are all stuff he's maybe gotten a little too used to... it's fine, he'll figure it out. for now he's just nodding and smiling at whatever crazy stuff people tell him and trying to be polite about the obvious madness that's overtaken u all until he figures out how to get home from here.

On that note, he is on Crescent Sun and is NOT going to be joining in any killing games because lmao why would anyone trust the fucked up forest entity telling everyone to kill eachother???? No thanks man he's good. Lyle is here to do what he does best and that's hole up indoors and wait for everything to blow over. CR: Um, you ever take a well-adjusted guy subclassed into subterfuge from the 1960's and then put him in a space opera where he gets to play Telephone with the living embodiment of the planets and THEN put him in a nasty little forest? That's Lodi! He's Just A Guy though, I promise! A guy who might've had some preemptive visions about death. He's incredibly nice, but he's definitely not planning to be a pushover.
Plans: I literally have nothing concrete in mind but since Lodi was just born yesterday into this beautiful forest I would prefer he not die. Maybe he can do a little violence, though, and feel horrifically guilty about it. Yay!
