SETTING UPDATES

• That sure was an exciting trip to the beach! And a horrible hotel. Let’s not talk about the horrible hotel.
• The Silver Kingdom is as beautiful and serene as ever, shielded under a gentle canopy that makes the realm feel like it’s wrapped in an ethereal night sky and- … wait, Aldric’s Grove?
• …
• Something is very wrong.

PLOT UPDATES

• All this to say that, at some point in the late summer, Lily’s corruption is going to come to a head, with Suri taking over and using her fae powers to trap Aldric’s Grove within a waking dream. Her kingdom which she will rule over upon return to Earthbread has overlaid itself over the Grove, and members of the Grove will believe themselves to be faerie citizens of the kingdom.
• Dreaming citizens will also dream up their Ideal Lives, with the caveat that it still falls under “Faerie Citizen of the Faerie Kingdom”. As White Lily Cookie is driven by the desire to make a perfect world, Ideal is the key word here! As such, all dreams are shared as you're a part of Lily's dream.
  • For example, Felicity (NPC) has a childhood of abuse, neglect and being a child soldier. Her ideal life would have her be born to a different family with less powerful magic, being able to grow up as a regular child and not who she truly is.
  • Another example would be the way that the dream prisons in Twisted Wonderland Chapter 7 have played out (apologies for spoilers); Riddle Rosehearts is the son of two famous mage doctors and has many expectations and rules placed upon him, and while the Waking Riddle loathes it, his true ideal life is being the rebellious child of two ordinary, non magical people with freedom and the ability to break rules as he sees fit.
• Characters will exist within the Dream, though some characters will find themselves Waking Up and, while still trapped in the Dream, be lucid and aware of the differences and truths. The first characters to Wake Up will be awoken by White Lily’s own voice, begging them to wake up and help her. To Wake another character up, you can choose logic and memories… or just smacking sense into them, if it’s thematic to the Waker or the Dreaming.
• The goal is to Wake Up as many people as possible, free or Wake Up White Lily Cookie, and return to the real world! This will be difficult though, as the dream is tainted with Suri’s magic and he will try to stop you, and some people are very hard to wake up from the Dream and will continue operating on the script.
  • As a note: Characters with dream walking abilities or psychic abilities may be able to Wake Up easier… or they may be extra-ensnared. This will be by player choice!
• White Lily Cookie herself is available to speak with, but she will always be present in the company of Elder Faerie Cookie, Pure Vanilla Cookie or Dark Cacao Cookie, and will not abide slander of her treasured lovers. And Elder Faerie Cookie will be especially… protective, shielding her from dissidents with fervor.
• By the standards of the Dream, she is the beloved Queen Consort of Elder Faerie Cookie, but she is new to the title and while she’s a friend to the Silver Forest, some wonder if she’s truly ready to be queen… And more are willing to accept her as a friend and lover to the king, but an outsider being made Queen is ridiculous.
• As a note: It is entirely possible to kill White Lily Cookie in this event. Suri will outright be trying to make this happen, even! This will not permanently kill her and will result in a trip to the Garden, but I do want this laid out on the table. Amity is completely fine with this and would not include it if not.
• Characters not caught in the dream will find the center of the Grove engulfed in a giant plant bud, with the Dreaming trapped within. If they do try to engage with the bud, please use the Investigations option! The last thing they’ll remember seeing before the Dream begins is a tidal wave of glowing, pure white butterflies.
• The Dream’s duration will depend on player action, especially depending on the state of the Lily. It will end before the next month, however! Should it end early there will be a mini-event about this, and life can proceed as usual.
• As per usual, the Guardians will be unaffected by this event. Zahliya is actively trying to break into Lily’s house to fix her- /for legal reasons, this is a joke
  • They will be doing their usual activities of “trying to rescue you and failing due to plot conveniences”.
• Ydalir will make sure your pets are fine. However, you also have the option of having your animals sucked into the dream with you, where they’ll have their own ideal dreams… whatever that may be.

• Amity is back from Hiatus as of August! I am Amity. Hi. Thank you so much for your patience while I died for a month, and I’m looking forward to continuing to bully everyone’s muses forever. This month and especially the next month we plan on ramping things up before the holidays!
• This is an event I’ve been very excited for for months now, and I hope you have a lot of fun with it!
• Summer is summering! Really that’s all we have there — the Grove is awfully quiet with at least half of you trapped in a big plant bulb, isn’t it? While you’re gone, more and more deer will settle into the space. Those who are not dreaming may notice hoards of biblically accurate deer starting to move into any space that’s not “in your house/the inn/a shop”. They think y’all up and left, so this is their house now.
• Because summer in real life is summering too, we want to remind you to STAY HYDRATED. This is supposed to be one of the hottest summers on record. DRINK WATER. And also we love you. <3

OURGH AMITY I HAVE A QUASTION (multiple quastion)

1. Can dreamers share a dream (in the case of castmates)? I.e. if Ain is married to Elsword—
2. Can dreamers interact with each other's dreams? I.e. if Ain's ideal is being married to his 800 partners, could like Till who is also dreaming come visit the haremhouse? Or would Till not see any NPCs dreamed up?
3. Can people who are Woken Up but still in the dream see the dreamer's ideal? I.e. let's say Till is awake and is kicking Ain out of the dream, would Till see any dreamed up NPCs still?

CR: Lily has become something of a deeply beloved member of the community without even realizing it, though her eyes were opened a little in June. For months now she's been struggling with hallucinations of her late or departed husbands under the effects of corruption, and her will has finally broken...
Plans: Lily is taking the scene as the Queen of the Faeries, constantly on the arm of her beloved husband Elder Faerie Cookie, though she will also be found in the company of Pure Vanilla and Dark Cacao. Unfortunately, all three are vessels of Suri, whispering poison in her ear and keeping her under his control. Thankfully she is a benevolent and friendly queen and will readily accept anyone into her chambers for a visit!

Elder Faerie and the others will try very hard to keep her wrapped in the Dream, resorting even to violence and tampering with her mind. So that's fun! But there is a spark of her deep down, fighting- and that's how our first Awoken will occur. :)

Lily's fate is in the hands of the players, ultimately, but I'm excited to see what happens!

Character: Shadow Milk Cookie
Canon: Cookie Game
CR: So once upon a time, and the beginning of Cookie Creation, there existed five cookies gifted the power of five important concepts: Knowledge, Change, Volition, Happiness, and Solidarity. Bringing in an age of paradise, these Virtues used their Soul Jams to usher in peace and prosperity.

Until they slowly crumbled under the weight of their power and immortality, falling into madness and corruption, and became beasts of destruction and chaos. They were sealed away, having their jam's split in half, filtering away the pure aspects of each virtue and scattering them off to find new heirs capable of shouldering their burden.

All was well and good until the previous Virtue of Knowledge, now the Beast of Deceit, Shadow Milk, fucking broke out!! Haha!! And now he wants his Jam back, and he wants to raze the world to the ground for locking him in that tree for thousands of years! And maybe squish Pure Vanilla in his hands like a stressball! That's absolutely what he wants!!

His personal showdown with Pure Vanilla, the other half of his Jam, says otherwise, and now he's stuck here in the Grove going through a painful redemption arc, finally free of most of his corruption and insanity but instead slapped with mountains of grief after having his soul mate forcibly ripped away from him. He and Lily have been slowly growing closer, grieving together and he has been searching for the kind of person he wants to be now.

Plans: Shadow Milk is someone Lily is Begrudgingly close to, so as such, he will actually be heavily under the spell of the Dream (or will he?). This means you get to interact with the Ideal Shadow Milk.

You will get to meet The Sage.

The Sage is a quirky, silly guy who is also an esteemed professor of the Kingdom's academia. He teaches lectures to crowds and tutors those of palace personally. Incredibly intelligent, but also charismatic and funny, he is a darling of the Kingdom. The truth is, Shadow Milk can likely be woken up very easily, but he may very well be unwilling to leave his dream for some time, playing along and lying to himself. After all, he's been conflicted about what he truly wants for a long time. This may be the closest he's ever come? He won't let it go easily.

Gravity Falls, that show about a pair of 12-year-old twins that go away for the summer only to be embroiled in the supernatural nonstop for three months, culminating in stopping a trillion-year-old chaos god from tearing the universe apart for The Lolz. Dipper's resume for dealing with insane batshit happenings served him well for the horror games he spent the past four years in!

Dipper is now almost seventeen and kind of a veteran of the unexplained. Through mechanics related to his previous game he is also semi-eldritch and has lots of fun powers that do not at all parallel the monster that traumatized him as a kid. He's doing surprisingly well all things considered though.

Plans:

Dipper is probably one of the bigger threats to keeping the illusion running with his entire powerset being what it is, so he will be put on a much deeper sleep than most to keep him from MEDDLING. He will be the hardest of mine to make away/wake up, which is fun I think. Good luck. He's going to be running around happily with a fake version of his twin sister who is definitely not here.

Ensemble Stars takes place in a mostly normal modern Tokyo, but it's a Tokyo that's a little to the left. There's an insane amount of importance placed on the Idol Industry and zaibatsus are still legal for some reason?? There is also an entire clan of exiled people living under the ground and has been there for a few centuries. That would be Mayoi's family, who've been driven underground before the introduction of the koseki (aka the family registry), leaving Mayoi and his family largely undocumented people without citizenship and rights. What does little Mayoi do once he realizes he loves the sounds of singing that often filter down below? He decides to become an idol.

Boy howdy was that more than he bargained for. Either way through some insane miracle on his and his family's part, Mayoi has papers (fake) and gets into one of the most prestigious idol schools, and does his best to live a life on the surface. He gets assigned to a unit, and they get put through an insane trial-by-fire in order to keep their jobs, it all goes well and their group is starting to gain traction!

And then Mayoi ends up in Austice, which was a hellish, cold little European-style village that was full of horrors. He has a very poor time there, but he does get to spend a lot of time with people he likes, so /weighs hands. In the end, he doesn't entirely know his fate, because he remembers going off to do something in secret in the woods and then. Nothing else. He assumes he is probably turbodead!

Mayoi in Sticks is slowly building a new life for himself here. He is your current Priest of Ourania and he has a Shrine in the northern part of the Grove. He lives there with Mafuyu and their [Rapidly Growing Number] of fruit animals. He is a nervous guy but he is taking his duties very seriously!! He also recently got a very important canon mate so he is!! Actually doing very well!

Plans: I actually have nothing in mind for him just yet. He could be on the outside trying to investigate persnaps.

I missed last month's plotting bc I was [not home bc I was busy being a furry] but NOW IM BACK BABY but I regretfully am going to squash all my characters into one toplevel because I'm lazy and words are hard tonight sorry about that-

Wolfwood: Wolfwood will be somewhat aware, but unable to wake up. He will have never left the orphanage and will have grown up there, becoming a caretaker and basically living out his days keeping the children safe. However, because he's "awake" in some capacity, he'll never truly look happy, even with a smile on his face. He will eventually be available to wake others and will be tagging out as well to interact with others' dreams.

Sesa: Sesa will be fully aware he's dreaming because he's never once been able to delude himself into thinking that the reality he lives in isn't just that. His dream, which will be open for anyone to see, involves living happily with his eldest brother who never would have met his untimely demise if [redacted] hadn't happened. He will be available to wake others and be moving from place to place to try to help people as much as he can.

Till: Till will be fully unaware and trapped in his dream, at least at first. His ideal life is going to be represented as having never been taken from his mother, given the opportunity to grow up and live as a "normal" person...of course, thing is, Till doesn't know what "normal" is, so his imagination might seem a little. Off, in that regard. It will be a happy one at least, even if it's all just a dream...

He WILL need someone to wake him up, but I do plan on doing additional prompts/tagging out with him being made aware at some later point so he can interact with others.

Not Seeking: Nothing major happening to Sesa or Wolfwood this time around, but with Till I am open to [consiequenses]. He's been physically hurt a couple times but he's never died and I've been looking for an opportunity to hit him with a steel chair so, you know. Wink.

I'm just gonna do a quick little rundown for my boys currently for the sake of plotting, but!

Pavlova will initially be caught in the dream and will wake up to it very early on. He will go along with the dream narrative for the most part and will pretend to stay under so that he can talk with Lily. Will also be trying to wake his dad once he gets turbo eepied.

Aira will be in the dream as well and will likely be a performer of some kind. he will be available to wake if you so choose and will probably make it his business to wake others once he's awake.

Neku, once I app him in fully will not be dragged in initially and will be on the outside investigating.

CR: Ain is an angel and was previously trying to hide it... He's no longer trying to hide it like he does in canon because there's No Point to doing that. Anyway, largely his goal back home was to stop the world from ending (done) and defeat the evil cult that wants to end the world (in progress), and also he's made of God Rock Substance (the El) which in this game's terms basically means he's made of nuclear energy I guess. I don't know how to explain Elsword to people anymore, I've been here 15 years—

Ain is a healer, he's sweet but can be passive-aggressive and generally loves to fuck with people, he has a difficult time grasping emotions often, he has an anxiety disorder, and his definition of friendship is incredibly nebulous. Some of you have already gotten this but Ain very rarely registers negative CR, you can yell at him all you want but he'll sit there like :D we're friends! because his canon group of idiots are always arguing about something and this is just friendship to him. He... has only been around humans for 5 years he doesn't get it, okay.

for Stix: Ain runs the tailor shop and lives in the bunny bakery with Ezell. He likes gardening but he doesn't help maintain any greenhouses, he's just having fun. Despite being a healer he doesn't work in the clinic much anymore, he's largely focused on other things. You can come to him for healing still but he won't really be in there much.

Ezell proposed to Ain and now that they're engaged, Ain has started to make big eyes at his other partners. This is Very Bad y'all better run before he tries to trophy wife himself at you—

1. Elsword showed up. This is the person Ain basically modelled his Everything after, like his love for humanity and even some of his habits. Ordinarily this would fix him, but...
2. His ass is still crashing out and he has regressed back to how he used to be early-game just moderately, meaning he's a little more prone to random violence and his general obsessiveness, which was already an issue, has worsened. He is not being a nice boy. He will still lean toward being "teehee, heehee" but he's currently more likely to smack the shit out of you if he doesn't like you so oops.

Plans: So haha speaking of that crashout-

Ain's ideal dream is living forever with all his friends and if you want that can include you! (You must have good CR with the Ain please don't do this if they're complete strangers lmao) This will include all his friends in canon too which is a lot of people. Unfortunately this also means (because me and my enablers are multishipping trash) the polyship marriage of him and like. Counts on fingers. 4 from his canon, plus any romantic CR from the Grove, so like hit me up if you do or don't wanna be dream-married.

He will not be aware this is a dream, he will be living his best life. This is going to wreck him when he's awake but it's fine, the consequences of my actions won't have any repercussions or anything—

Not Seeking: It is not time for him to die (again) (yet).

Flamebringer... sighs. Okay. Flamebringer is a Sarkaz ("demon" but that word is also a slur for them) (he will get Touchy about this) from Kazdel, which is where a lot but not all Sarkaz are from. Kazdel is a shithole of a country, like they don't even have flowers there it's real bad. Formerly, he could hear the voices of other dead Sarkaz and could feel their emotions/see their history, but that's no longer the case since he's been canon updated to Chapter 15. He's a little :| about his brain being quiet rn.

Flamebringer himself is someone who views any battle that isn't life or death as a waste of his time/abilities, and he's a "one-man army" archetype. His ultimate goal is one day to find a fight so good that he can die happy in battle, in this pseudo-suicidal way. He's not actively seeking them, but you have to be Worth Fighting in his eyes for him to raise his blade. As his name hints at, he's very proficient in fire-based magic. He's also Infected with Oripathy (stage 3 now due to Suri) (this man is dying actively, essentially at the point of no return now). For the new folks here Oripathy is basically cancer, but with rocks. Cutting yourself on the rocks on his skin will transmit the illness; he normally keeps them bandaged as much as he can, but the ones on his face are now unruly and hard to deal with without bandaging most of his head.

Kazdelian Sarkaz are the Arknights equivalent of Jewish & other Abrahamic religions, and they aren't even trying to hide this fact with FB because he wears a Star of David necklace. If you ever ask me about this factoid I will go on for 2 hours you have been warned.

As for Stix: He runs the tat/piercing shop, he lives in the bunny bakery with Ezell who is his fiancé and he will kill for, he helps out in the greenhouses... Suri took his left eye from him via Oripathy nodules growing into his optical nerve and severing it. Due to his Stage 3 Oripathy he's usually in intense amounts of daily pain, and sometimes hacks up shards of it in private. His worst nightmare is dying to this, so :')

What does this man do anymore, idk, he's out there.

Plans:

Flamebringer's ideal dream is also very domestic, it's one where he's married to Ezell and they have all their kids together. His old dream used to be dying in battle but whoops, Ezell domesticated him a lot. I know this isn't interesting from a CR perspective so lmk if you want to either a) be one of the kids or b) be part of the family unit somehow. I've already worked things out with Billie Sue regarding him being part of the Pines family in general so yayyy advance plotting!

Yes he'll kind of be aware that something is wrong considering the brainghosts he used to have but like. He'll wake up eventually. He's a strong candidate for going around waking other people up, I'm sorry if you get decked tho.

Luca (and Kiera) come from a world that is ruled by "Beasts," which are each gods in their own rights. After their own fighting nearly destroyed the world, they decided to wage proxy war on one another by instead granting fragments of their power to mortals in what's called a "Blessing." Each beast tended to choose how the Blessing was distributed in its own ways. The Phoenix chose to honor only one family line, that of the Aurelius lineage. The family was pretty far reaching, with multiple different prongs and branches. However, at some point, the family line began to wane, eventually leading to only one Phoenix blessed per generation. Unlike Luca, his father, Cyrus, wasn't Blessed.

Other nations tried to take advantage of this weakness, banding together with Cyrus's political rival, Augustus. They attempted to assassinate Luca, but Cyrus sacrificed himself to save his son. Some years later, Luca would realize this sacrifice was in vain, as the Phoenix's latent abilities made it so that he would resurrect from death. This led the once warm-hearted Luca to despair, hardening his softer exterior into something sharp and violent. Ever since the events of Zahliyaquest 2, however, Luca has begun to soften up.

Recently, he was "canon" updated to learn that he had banded together with Kiera and newly taken lover, River, in order to kill the Phoenix. As a result, he is no longer Blessed, but instead the embodiment of the Phoenix itself. Unfortunately, control over these powers still alludes Luca from time to time.

None of which is actually relevant because ....

Plans:
All of that trauma? Gone! Yippee!

Basically, Cyrus still lives, taking a position of leadership amongst the kingdom. His two biological children (winks at Kiera) have lived a life of luxury and privilege. However, he still holds to his ideals, ensuring that both of his children grew up respectful and meant to find their own way. Luca loyally serves the Silver Tree Knights. He's managed to attain a rather respectable position. He's also managed to attain some amount of success in his love life, occasionally referring to a rather respectable, princely sort that may or may not sound like an amalgamation of his previous lovers. Rumor has it that wedding bells may soon ring!

He still embodies the Blessing of the Phoenix, which has given him some interesting traits in tandem with the fae ones. However, unlike the Phoenix he knew from home, this one seems to be an amicable creature, and they have an excellent relationship with one another.

Luca is fully lost in the illusion. It'll take some doing to free him from this. It's the kind of dream he never wants to wake up from.

Not Seeking:
Nothing too wild this month. I'm dealing with a bit of burnout and trying to get some things in order, so I'd rather not deal with intense conflict. Darker or sadder themes are fine, just reach out!

CR: Firefly was once known simply as AR-26710, a clone created purely for the purpose of fighting in a war against an enemy known as the Swarm. After a truly horrific battle that left everyone else dead, Firefly did a big Power Up to destroy the remainder of the Swarm and her entire planet along with it, which was already desolate and destroyed at the point anyways. Afterwards, she went drifting along in space before being found by her found family, joining in with them in the hopes that Elio, the leader, could help her achieve her dreams.

You see, she suffers from a condition known as Entropy Loss Syndrome, a side effect of her being a genetically engineered human -- or more specifically, a intentional failsafe put into her DNA to make her expire past a certain age of development so weapons like her couldn't fall into enemy hands. Slowly but surely, you become disconnected from your physical body, until you simply cease to be, fading away completely. The only way to slow this down even a little is with the SAM (strategic assault mech) suit, which is literally a robot suit she uses that also is how she acts as a weapon. But, it also acts as essentially a medical cabin that keeps her from progressing too far in her disease too quickly. As a result, she is keen to do anything and everything she can to find a way to live.

Nowadays when working with the Stellaron Hunters, she takes on the persona of Sam when using her SAM suit, who uses he/him instead of she/her like Firefly. Sam is a different kind of personality than Firefly, colder and more soldier-like, a sort of trauma coping mechanism to protect Firefly, the self she wants to be the most, from having to do the hard things that she has to do as a Stellaron Hunter (he doesn't have a 9.723 billion credits bounty on his head for nothing). I consider them to be like a dual persona situation, a mental divide.

You will see both Firefly around and Sam around, but for now, they will not associate themselves as being the same person so Firefly has a chance to pretend to be normal like she desperately wishes to be.

Plans: Firefly can't dream, and rarely sleeps. The last time she was involved in a dreamscape also run by a god, she specifically had to break in and it was incredibly painful. As a result, I'm not going to let her have fun with everyone and instead get to stand sadly outside while everyone gets to play in fairy land. Though, it also means that she's open to be able to do investigations outside while everyone is inside!

part time 16 year old, part time nuclear bomb. tl;dr dessendre family can create entire worlds inside paintings. maelle has accidentally lived an entire second life inside one before remembering this shit. verso in-game (sticks and canon both lol) is a painted copy of the irl verso who died horrifically in a fire to save her. she is a smarmy little shit with attachment issues. the dessendre's are famously talented artists who enjoy high status in the silver kingdom. it's likely that the names aline, renoir, and clea ring a bell when it comes to all manner of fine art and sculptures, while verso is more famed for his skillful piano compositions. (oh, the verso you know from the grove a dream, perhaps? well, they look and sound the same, but this guy doesn't recognize you at all, sorry!) even the family's sibling pair of retainers, gustave and emma, are a well-renowned engineer and councilwoman, respectively.

as the youngest, maelle isn't established like her parents, siblings, or vassals, much preferring the chance to just be a silly little guy. of course she gets to just be a kid! nothing bad ever happens in the silver kingdom!

maybe she should recognize this song and dance? does she? maybe she doesn't care to think too hard about it and break the illusion. perhaps with the right nudge, she'll be more inclined to wake up.


kiera - original

canon

kiera was born a dhampir prince of castilla, the nation of the Butterfly. after a traumatic early childhood composed mostly of training for combat and espionage, they infiltrated the aurelius family of enemy nation renova, the inheritors of the Phoenix's Blessing. luca and cyrus quickly earned kiera's love and loyalty through their compassion. things were strained between the adopted siblings for years after their father's assassination, but recently they've worked hard to repair their broken relationship.

plotting: kiera's dream is perfectly aligned with luca's. they were born an aurelius, raised with love and affection from the start -- in this dream, they bear the telltale aurelius wine-red hair and golden eyes. unlike their brother and father, though, they possess no Blessing from a more powerful Beast. they are quite content to be an "ordinary" fae citizen. while still a healthy bit mischievous, they're far less aloof and more genuine than their real self -- they don't have any reason to be on guard, after all. and since this is their ideal reality and they don't have childhood trauma associated with their masculinity, kiera in the dream uses any pronouns.

while not employed directly as a knight like luca, kiera breeds, raises, trains, and tends horses for the kingdom's forces, which allows them to still have a hand in aiding and being close to their brother. having a soft spot for birds, they maintain a dovecote and a chicken coop on the side as well.

even if their true self is highly suspicious and constantly on edge, this is the reality kiera never realized how much they've always wanted. unless someone can prove to them that luca (or maybe any characters they've grown close to in aldric's grove) is in real danger, they will be very resistant to awakening efforts.


livio/razlo - trigun maximum

canon

livio is from the planet no man's land, where everything is sand and capital P Plants make everything from electricity to oxygen to food. for a time, he lived at the hopeland orphanage with wolfwood, but ran away when he felt he was a danger to the other kids. turns out, after joining a murder cult worshipping mass murderer, independent Plant, millions knives, livio IS really good at danger and violence! he and his protector alter, razlo, served the eye of michael for years before being forced into a change of heart, and are now working hard to be good guys.

plotting: livio doesn't always trust what he sees, so even if he is inclined to wake up, he may still struggle between whether or not to buy into the dream. his own history is largely a mystery even to him, but he knows that he works as a groundskeeper at the orphanage he and his brother were raised in. he's still meek and reserved. physically, livio isn't anything special, maybe around 6 feet tall, with scruffy dark hair and a dad bod hiding enough muscle to perform heavy labor comfortably. honestly, this whole existence is a bit fuzzy for him, and he kind of just wants to go along with it if possible...

his younger brother razlo is closer to 6'5" and much rowdier in comparison, sporting an impressive number of stick and poke tats, self-inflicted piercings, and a bleached and dyed mohawk. despite his rough appearance and punkish attitude, raz is an exceedingly gentle caretaker for the orphans -- he's been in their shoes, after all, and wants to make sure nothing bad ever happens to them again. and though he's friendly enough with other adults, he may get defensive if someone implies he should just abandon these kids.
