OOC UPDATES

Short update, slow month, happy holidays if you celebrate!
Lavvy has joined the mod team as a list mod! Everyone give it up for your newest overlord Lavvy! Yay!
As a result, some things related to how our pages are maintained and look may be getting a slight overhaul. We will point at them all rapidly as they come because we love and appreciate this.
Wolfie will be taking a full (100%) mod hiatus in December because Wolfie is on fire. Any NPC requests through Wolfie’s NPCs will be handwaved for the month of December; ongoing investigations she ran in November will still be tagged/completed.
We have a page about corruption, draconic blessings and a placeholder for the magic system! Please give it a look if you haven’t already.
Casual reminder that November is a check-in month, aaaand so is December! Historically December always is, so enjoy your two free months. Regular AC will resume in January.

SETTING UPDATES

Winter’s bite is worsening, and the animals are beginning to grow scarce again. The lake and river aren’t frozen over completely yet, but if you remember last year… in any case, there will be blizzards throughout the month, and near the end of it, the cold grows bad enough to where even our native snowbirds might find the temperatures unforgiving.
Dark Cacao and his chosen companions have successfully hatched the seven dragons, and early to mid-month will be safe to move to the Grove.
With this, draconic blessings are fully available to the rest of the game as well (see the above linked page). Draconic blessings have no thread cost but you must speak to the hatchlings for it, and it must be threaded. The thread can be short, don’t worry. As a recap, the blessings are permanent and as follows:
- Strength: horns and scales visually, and increased durability.
- Balance: a tail, possibly prehensile.
- Flight: wings, capable of flight.
- Sight: dragon eyes (either straight up lizard or something akin to the unique eyes in Flight Rising, if you need ideas) with enhanced vision.
Those with keen eyes may note that there seem to be less Seaborn in the river. Weird!
There is a heavy feeling of something watching you from all angles, but it is hard to find the source.

PLOT UPDATES

The merchants- Ydalir especially- will be hosting a feast and something of a cultural exchange, including Ydalir just yoinking things out of her mirror from your world to eat and share. With a bit of magic, everyone can partake in whatever they’d like! Yes even you, Loop.
Everyone is invited and while it’s not enforced, you may make a tall shadow woman sad if you don’t stop by for a bite.
As the temperature drops, the guardians seem to grow drowsy. Callan will temporarily stop living in the lake as he finds the temperatures unforgiving, and will primarily be stationed in Siffrin’s fish tank. Sinann will still be active in the river, but will be seen less frequently. Moder will be active enough to conscript Wolfwood into being Saint Nick again, but otherwise will be sleeping. Aurora will transform into a tiny bird and slip in with the Church pigeons. Zahliya remains semi-active and will conduct his regular patrols, but will stay inside the Church rather than on top of it.
On the topic of a certain gargoyle guest, Zonari will largely sleep in the barn and not be seen much. She’s also hibernating.
We have a Christmas gifts thread below, so feel free to put what your character wants for Christmas down! Providing a brief list is fine; note that the mods will only pick one of these things. It can be an item from home that would cost 5 threads or under, so a medium item regain, or something from the usual BAC store for under 5 threads, or something you completely make up for fun (a niche book, a really cool rock, a plushie, idk your life). If physical items aren’t your character’s thing, we can work with that in some way; just write the idea down anyway.
- Note that we will tally up the gifts the day before the event goes live (Dec. 5th), so if you don’t put anything down, you will receive a handwaved generic gift instead of something personalized to your character.
- These will be delivered by Wolfwood yes Chi we’re conscripting him again (you asked for it).

CR: PV is a former Cookie turned Human turned Minotaur, whose blind as fuck and can only see via the connection he shares with his Seeing Eye Staff. That Kinda Has a Personality of It's Own Which May or May Not Be an Actual Evil Beast From The Past. It's a whole thing. He is kind, sweet, and ridiculously self-sacrificial. He also refuses to believe in his own abilities despite being shockingly powerful, preferring to stay a humble healer.

That being said he will use this abilities to kick ass in defense of his loved ones if need be.

He recently died and had his healing magic ripped from him, so he's sort of spiraling but also determinedly switching his focus to medicine he can make. He used to be Immortal but he broke apart his soul jam and gifted it to Beiwe, Ourania and used the rest to resurrect Aurora. Now he's very much Mortal and slowly dying of Oripathy that he gave himself to study it. Please read above to the self-sacrificial thing. He spends most of his time in the Clinic, teaching others how to heal, researching Oripathy, crocheting gifts, helping Livio with the School, gardening- no he doesn't sleep.

Plans:
Dragon-wise: He has no plans to get a blessing. He's plenty strong due to his Minotaur body, he has no desire to fly, has horns, has a tail and it's very adorable, and he's blind. His Staff is already enchanted. He doesn't need them!

Event-wise: You bet your gumdrop buttons he's going to be sharing his cultural food with everyone. While a lot of it will be Sweet because ffs it's a Cookie-based world, there's going to be quite a bit that's savory as well. In a vaguely sweet way.

Other: HE IS GOING TO BE GIFT GIVING THE ENTIRE MONTH. Cookies don't have Christmas but they do have a Winters Festival, filled with food and gift giving. He will be dressed up appropriately festive.

Character: Beat
Canon: TWEWY: NEO/Ryslig CRAU

CR: Beat is a young adult Werewolf who was once human but after a couple years of having his head messed with just doesn't care anymore. He's vibing, he's chilling, he's being a dog. It's fun. No thoughts. Nothing will stop his big brother spirit, however, and should you need someone to lend a hand and some muscle, he's your guy. He wandered around the forest for a few months and though he's back, he isn't really considered about doing much. One, it's winter which is arguably the worst time of year cause there's less sun and he can't snowboard cause there's no room for it really. Two, he's not much in the way of planning anymore. He's much more go with the flow now. Someone else can order him around.

I'm up for any CR with him and maybe something that helps give him a purpose again, instead of just lounging around like a lazy fuck. And digging up the grove.

Character: Affogato Cookie
Canon: Cookie Run: Kingdom

CR: Affogato is a former Cookie who was once upon a time Dark Cacao Cookie's Royal Advisor. He clawed, scraped, and ~~poisoned~~ potioned his way to get to that position. And though he was very willing to feed into Cacao's paranoia and control via puppeting him, as well as let outer tribes starve (fuck you Coffee Village), he was actually really decent at his job. His job was to run the day to day of the Citadel and given what he had to work with, he did well enough! Plus he showed actual care for a) his disciples and b) the workers, asking Cacao to be easier on them.

However, when offered More Power he gladly took it and betrayed Cacao for the Crown, then was forced to flee.

Here in Stix: He's made up with Cacao and has re-pledged his loyalty via friendship instead. Which they're working on... He's taken over as Mizuki's Commander but uhm, has also grown feelings for the jellyfish which is very annoying cause he becomes very possessive and he does not like sharing. So you can imagine. With Fel gone he's taken over the Bath House as well, and is working to turn it into more of a parlor for relaxation. Massage, acupuncture, soaking. Whatever your needs. Plus he will do your makeup and hair for you, geezus please let him.

He's TRYING to be on his best behavior but it's so hard to be good when you still want Power and the Thing In The Forest Offers It. He's somewhat mollified by joining Cacao's Dragon Egg Helper Party and, in return, being given a boon. He now has better vision and better balance, which he will be using to his advantage for things. It came with a tail so. Watch Out He Will Flirt With It.

Plans:
Dragon: He already got his blessings. His eyes were slit to begin with (the high amount of caffiene in his system gives him and the other Coffee Tribers perm constricted pupils), so while there's no noticeable difference, they have been given the gift of better vision. To go with the gift of Balance he was given a long snake like tail.
Event: The man loves sweets but his Ridge cultural is very... not about that. Their food is very basic, built for long long nights and bitter colds. Dense and packed with nutrition but very bland. He will decline sharing that with everyone, but he will be glad to pull in various Ridge Booze!
