JUNE PLOTTING: LET'S GO TO THE BEACH, BEACH

SETTING UPDATES:

• Summer has arrived! It’s sweltering, the sun is shining brightly, and the flowers are in full bloom. Sometimes, biblically accurate bees bumble from flower to flower. They aren’t dangerous, they are important to the ecosystem, please treat them with respect.
• Passenger built a cafe. It’s called the Magic Lamp, and it lies south of the therapy building with a riverside view on the deck. When he isn’t attending to it, the spirit of a capitalist can be seen running it. Like with the ghost in Luca’s bar, this one also isn’t capable of communication with you, but understands basic commands (and also begs for tips).
• Elsword’s house is gone! Goodbye house! The eyeball lemon trees he planted remain.
• SilverAsh is cleaning up the burned town. In a month or two, perhaps it’ll be stable enough to walk on without risking falling into a sinkhole? We’ll see. :)
• Callan remains Corrupted, but some progress has been made to fixing him! Hm hmmm.
• The Moon Seance (Seeyonce if you want to have a verbal tic for the next week you’re welcome) went well? Or perhaps saying it simply “went” is more accurate. Characters involved have learnt about Ourania, her condition, and how to get home. A short summary lives in the first two comments on this thread. The actual conversation that was threaded out is this way, if you’d like to peruse more.
• Mizuki also made friends with the Cosmic Serpent that lives in the whirlpool in the sea, with Sesa as his cohort in this. The Serpent is in possession of a sun artifact from Terra now. Time will tell what this means, if anything.
• Affogato has named the Fallen Sun/False God/Creature “Śuri”... time will tell what this means :). This information is not ICly known unless Affogato chooses to share it with the class, which means Zahliya and Nene don’t know, which means Affogato is spared being strangled by two shorties… for now.

PLOT UPDATES:

• Run.
• …aka we’re going to the beach! The overall map has been updated accordingly — the three new maps for this event are at the bottom of the usual gallery. How we get there is very silly, but know that it involves Moder permanently altering some of the trees with her forest magic to create a permanent (safe) pathway down that isn’t near the Lighthouse where the Danger is.
• Unfortunately, the Creature, who is not fond of the ocean, is now tired of y’all and is trapping you down there with its magic. Stay on the beach and go play in your water you’re all weird ewww — yes, Moder will also be stuck on the beach with you. It will take her the month to break through the Creature’s magic to put you all back, but after this, the beach will be permanently accessible.
• Other NPCs will be stuck with you — this will include the usual crop of contactable NPCs. Sinann, Callan, and the Behemoth will not be with you, Sinann is a freshwater Guardian you see. That said, if you harass the Cosmic Serpent enough, they might wake up from slumber to ask you wtf you want and babysit you. Heimr and Ydalir’s regular facilities will be accessible — Ydalir’s tent and giant turtle will be the same as always, and Heimr will be set up with his own beachfront store in an old building that looks like it needs some cleaning up. You can help him with this for dad’s love points.
• Heimr will provide everyone one (1) swimsuit and one (1) beach outfit in either surfer or boho style, your choice, for free upon arrival.
• As for places to live, fret not: Through a low cave filled with corals and glowing crystals is a pier where cute cabanas are set up for you to live in. There are a limited amount of these, so you might have to room with someone. Each has an attached kitchen and bathroom like the picture so that you guys don’t smell like seawater all month and can, y’know, eat food.
• The ocean cave will flood with the high tide at night, so unless you can breathe underwater, traversing the cave isn’t recommended. Better get to bed before it floods! Or don’t, we’re not your parents.
• This is going to be a “do whatever you want” beach event, please do whatever you want. Climb things, walk to the lighthouse, throw coconuts at each other, again we aren’t your parents.
• Yes, there are horrible Subnautica creatures here. More info to come. You theoretically won’t be attacked by the Sticks version of a reaper leviathan… yet.
• Next month will have more ocean surprises, stay tuned. :)

OOC UPDATES:

• Happy summer! As stated in prior plotting posts, summer is going to involve fun but theoretically low-stress events. You are welcome to shift the plot around while you’re here despite the fact we the mods consider these events plot-light. We’re here for whatever crimes you commit.
• Unhappy summer: The program Wolfie uses to make the maps is shutting down in a couple months, meaning future map updates past… July? August? Who even knows anymore man— may be much slower, which says a lot because they’re already pretty darn slow. Wolfie will be learning how to make maps in RPGMaker to compensate because if we don’t have the coolest map in DWRP, Wolfie will blow up. Thank you for coming (if there are easier programs to use please drop Wolfie a DM she’s trying her best).
• As always if we forgot something in the plotting post, please let us know so we can edit!

Character: Nicholas D. Wolfwood

Status: Bro Wolfwood has been Stressed. Like he's Fine, nothing immediately terrible has been happening, but also Vash exploding into a bug and being corrupted now? Kinda stressful!! He's already since worked things out with him so they're fine, but that doesn't mean he isn't 20x more worried about his wellbeing now than he was before. He'll be trying to help monitor his corruption progress and, not gonna lie, he will probably start trying to help seek the corruption cure with those who are working on it if at all possible. So if you want to loop WW into that at all help me up, he's not magical so he can't help there but if you need someone who can shoot things idk he's your man.

He is not going to be as insanely thrilled about beach time as Sesa is, but he will appreciate the change in scenery. You see, No Man's Land did not have oceans (at least not where he was located, but also like I don't think in general given the insane water shortage and desert seas), so this man has never seen the sea ever in his fucking life. If you notice him just kindof sitting and staring at it its because he doesn't even know how to process this much water. Like what the fuck.

This also means he probably can't swim. Nobody I play can swim, it's tragic. He'll be getting his Heimr mandated swim trunks either way because I'm not depriving the world of this man's chest, alright. Also he's bringing his Husky to the beach. Her name is Angelina and she's no longer a tiny puppy, but is in that weird adolescent teenage dog stage where her limbs are too long for her body. She has RBF but is a giant sweetheart.

I know Wolfwood can be a grouch and a little hard to interact with sometimes and I worry that might be offputting to some people, so if there's ever any issue with that please let me know. He's opened up a lot in his time here believe it or not, and even though he's grumpy he's an incredibly good person deep down. We will be putting a pin in this and revisiting it come August because that's when things will be picking up and getting insane but it's fine that's a problem for future chi-

Status: Sesa, individually, has been fine! He has not, however, been extremely thrilled with the things that happened with Passenger last month, and because of that he's kindof been ??? not necessarily avoiding people, but just kindof staying in his own lane so as not to rock the boat further and cause unnecessary rifts by saying something he'll regret, because he knows better than to think he'd be able to keep his mouth shut. If nothing is discussed and nothing else comes of it he'll get over it, but hey if anybody wants a thread about it waggles my eyebrows-

Otherwise though Sesa has been busy with his work on his workshop but I also wanted to kindof ask the game at large since we were thinking about doing a poll about it anyway, I think? But do you guys want the Rec Center to remain as a location...it's the building with the swimming pool and tons of slides and stuff, it's not being used much at the moment and though I had Sesa take it over once its previous owner dropped, he hasn't done much with it either because he's been busy with his own shit. That's mostly my fault though. If somebody else wants to take it who doesn't have their own thing and plans on doing things with it you're welcome to, just let me know so I can inform the mods.

Seeking: Sesa is going to be EXTREMELY EXCITED about the beach. He has been craving the warm weather and sand since the winter was going on when he showed up, so he's just going to bury himself in the sand like a lizard and live there. He is thriving in his lane do not disturb. He'll be dressed in boho style bathing attire because of course, and his little plantimal leaf tailed gecko will be with him, you just may not notice because the little guy is camouflaged all the time and likes to hang out on his horns or in his hair. I desperately want people to do stupid beach shit with sesa. Bury him, make sandcastles with him, teach him to swim because he doesn't know how to either. He'll be bringing his offbrand Switch as well to play games because it's got an originium battery in it it'll last forever.

Character: Mizuki (Arknights)
Status:

A wordy bitch summary of Mizuki

Hi. Hello. Welcome to my ramble of who Mizuki is as a person for those of you new to Me and my little blorbo.

Mizuki was born as an Aegir - a seafaring race from Terra based on water animals. In his case, a moon jellyfish. Aegir are also based a bit on sirens, forming societies underwater once upon a time, and having a language based on melody and song (and also it's just ancient Norse-). Mizuki's voice has a mild amount of supernatural charm and equal parts ominous to him, both from his more siren-y roots, and also his Seaborn nature.

Which brings us to Seaborn. Mizuki is no longer considered an Aegir, and is a Seaborn - a species of seafaring "monsters" from Terra. They share a hivemind with their four "gods", all eldritch and very Bloodborne-esque in the way they function and think. Seaborn adapt and evolve rapidly based on their environments, and have rapid healing on top of that. They have blue blood compared to the standard red, and usually have very little in the way of independence, resistance to the voice of their gods and free will. Mizuki is a special case in this regard.

Mizuki has tons (roughly 30) of tentacles that he keeps constantly hidden with his camouflage. If they're visible, staring at them causes mild fear that ramps up based on how long you look, and can cause headaches and dizziness. He also has a neurotoxin stored in them that can be injected via sting, causing even worse fear and hallucinations that affect all the senses. (It's implied in canon he can also cause hallucinations without the sting, as that's something based on pheromones, but for now unless it becomes relevant we'll just keep it simple and say it's part of the toxins because good lord, boy this is so much-)

Mizuki is immune to disease and poison. However, this means that he is entirely unable to use anything that is considered a "double-edged sword" so to speak. From his world, that would be Originium, which can infect the user with improper use, but also grants them the "magic". As such, he's completely unaware of how magic of any kind works and he's not good at it--

Personality wise, Mizuki is a sweet, polite boy. He loves to make friends, and he's a bit socially unaware sometimes, but he's very willing to help out wherever he can. Upon talking with him more, it's clear there's something a bit off about him. He doesn't really think like normal people does. He has problems making decisions for himself. He thinks there's a "right" and a "wrong" and that's it, but doesn't know which is which. He wants to do the right thing, truly, but he freezes up if you try to ask him which is which.

Also he'll occasionally say terrifying things with a smile. Not a menacing smile, just... genuinely doesn't see a problem with it.

Mizuki's very easy to entertain, but if you bore him enough the cheeriness from him is usually replaced with a sense of apathy. He never really "dislikes" anyone, but you can certainly assume he doesn't consider you a friend if you see this side of him. Otherwise, Mizuki is very emotional. He's just really in touch with his emotions and he'll cry when he's sad. he is small.

And I've rambled too much here so uhh oops ignore all this ig and just ask me what's up with Mizuki on discord you'll be stuck listening to me ramble for 38 hours.

Elsword is dead! Add is gone! You would think losing his boyfriend and his commander all in one fell swoop would inflict the depression on this jellyfish, but he's still a ray of sunshine, actually. Also, he ate Elsword and talks about him like he's still here, so! He's very well adjusted.

He got up to a lot of shenanigans in May! Beyond the above, he spoke with Callan, he made friends with the Cosmic Serpent and he regained some laser tag stuff and also A Cow. He's practicing moon magic, and he's also getting more plant-y stuff growing on him re: his seaborn evolution. It absolutely looks like corruption so he's bandaging it all up so he doesn't worry anyone haha-

Otherwise, he's vibing! He's having a good time! The works! He's been here for a good sum of months now so he knows the works particularly well. He's mostly just trying to gauge how everyone else is feeling at this point, and trying to help people out the best he can.

He's also incredibly liable to lurk on people. I'll generally try to ask if it's alright if Mizuki sees xyz thing because he just canonically camouflages and follows people around, but feel free to tell me no, that's fine. Alternatively, if you're like "hey Mizuki SHOULD watch this, I want him too, give me the freak jellyfish" you can do that too--

General

- In general, I'm always seeking new CR. Mizuki loves to make friends and he says some mildly unhinged things sometimes that makes for fun threads. Let him pick your brain, let him excitedly show you video games, let him talk about his special interest, Mizuki is autistic-
- He just lost a commander as well, and while Affogato has very recently taken on that role now, it's Very Fresh, and if u wanted to do something w that w Tal and I, I'm sure we would love to discuss shenanigans.
- Mizuki also needs a new partner to hold hands with. It's a very bad idea to do this, he's very Yandere, but consider I'm a monster and want it anyway.

Enciodes is a politician through and through. He's the patriarch of his family and inherited it once he was of age to do so, as his parents had been murdered died when he was very small. This meant that he didn't have too much of a childhood. He had to learn how to be an adult and learn how to pick up on people trying to lie or manipulate him very early on. He also had two younger sisters he needed to take care of, who he loves more than anything, even if some of the things he's done have been against their wishes.

Enciodes embodies the phrase "ends justify the means". He will break bridges if it means it'll build a city. He knows sometimes the world will see him as a bad guy. He knows sometimes the things he does are not good. He can well acknowledge that he is not a good person, even if he can lie through his teeth with a smile and convince you he is, but he does genuinely have his heart in the right place.

The thing about Enciodes is that he is also a bleeding heart, but very intentionally does not wear it on his sleeve. He will hide how he's feeling and never show his hand, but it takes such a toll on him. It breaks his heart knowing he's hurt his sister, and that he has to do things that has ruined people to the point where they feel that don't even have a reason to live anymore. It's caused a few small cracks in his facade. But not enough so that anyone who doesn't know him well will pick up on it.

Enciodes did some stuff in May, but I plan on having him be more active this month. I have a quest to 1. assist two people in solving a problem and 2. get someone to play with both Unci (his pet snow leopard) and Rusty. I'll have a log for that soon, but you can hit me up here if you wanna talk about it!!
He's been cleaning up the burned part of town and intends to have it be livable... sssoonish? Yeah. soonish.
